Our Story
At Racecourse Road Veterinary Clinic we provide professional and affordable health care for your pets. We aim to make your pet feel at ease in our clinic with a caring and gentle approach to treatment and consultations. Our dedicated staff and leading veterinarians are all passionate about pets and are avid animal lovers.
Meet The Team
Veterinarians
Dr David Kim
Veterinarian & Director (BVSc)
Dr. David graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2013. He is passionate about educating clients on preventative care to ensure all pets live a long and happy life. David is committed to providing the most up to date care and has completed post graduate training in diagnostic imaging and surgery. He has a keen interest in orthopaedic surgery and arthritis management.
David lives with his two poodles Bill and Lulu, and enjoys cooking for his family (wife Lisa and daughter Mia). His hobbies include travelling, playing golf and watching live music. He is also an avid Richmond Tigers fan.
Dr Julie Ward
Veterinarian (BVSc (hons), MANZCVS)
Dr. Julie Ward graduated from the University of Melbourne with honours in 2006. She worked in mixed practice for the first 5 years of her career, but has worked in small animal practice since 2011. She completed a year long postgraduate course in small animal medicine with the University of Sydney in 2014. In 2015 she sat further exams in small animal medicine and obtained her membership with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Science.
Dr. Julie really enjoys helping pets with medical conditions or illnesses, and also those with skin conditions.
When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her family (husband Zane and kids Lucy and Jack). Her fur family includes her kelpie Olive, her guinea pigs Snowy and Patch, and her horse Ludo. She also enjoys horseriding, running, reading and travelling.
Dr Sarah Shannon
Veterinarian (BSc, DVM (Distinction) )
Dr. Sarah graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2017 with distinction, and has been working at Racecourse Road Veterinary Clinic ever since. She loves getting to know our clients, and having a cuddle with all their beautiful cats and dogs!
Sarah has completed further study in both Surgery and Dermatology, which she has a keen interest in as she knows first-hand how difficult managing allergies in our pets can be!
When she's not at the clinic, Sarah can often be found trail riding with her horse Spice, baking yummy treats, or playing with her dog Chewie.
Dr Livia Macreadie
Veterinarian (BSc, DVM)
Dr. Livia graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2015. She started work with large animals but found it was dogs and cats she loves the most.
Livia enjoys meeting people and their beloved furry friends, any large hairy canine will absolutely steal her heart. She also enjoys surgery of all sorts.
She lives with her husband who is also a Vet, and sons Charlie and Rowley, and a very much spoilt Australian Shepherd. In her spare time she enjoys walking her dogs with her family and going to the footy with her Collingwood mad family.
Dr Hannah Butler
Veterinarian (BSc, DVM)
Dr. Hannah graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2019. She began her veterinary career in mixed animal practice but is now focusing on small animal medicine and ultrasound.
Hannah also has an interest in behaviour and aims to create a calm and safe environment for both her patients and their owners.
In her spare time you can find her reading a good book, spending time with friends and cuddling her two groodles, Arlo and Maple.
Dr Tristram Finn
Veterinarian (BSc, DVM)
Dr. Tristram graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2015. He initially worked in Mixed Practice in Mount Gambier before returning to Melbourne to work with cats, dogs and everything in between.
He enjoys talking to clients in the consult room about their pet's health and whacky adventures.
At home he lives with his wife and sons Charlie and Rowley, plus a furry and noisy Australian Shepherd. In his spare time he enjoys reading and walking his dogs with his family.
Dr Jane Collins
Veterinarian (BSc (Hons) DVM)
Dr Jane graduated from the university of melbourne in 2016. She started mixed veterinary practice in Victoria before settling in small animal practice. She has an interest in small animal emergency and medicine and enjoys the variety that general practice offers.
Jane enjoys meeting families and looking after their furry companions.
At home, Jane enjoys wining and dining with her partner Sam, spending time with their daughter Hazel and trying to control the worlds cheekiest yellow Labrador, Maple Syrup.
Dr Ellie Tiernan
Veterinarian (BVSc)
Ellie graduated from James Cook University in Far North Queensland in 2022. Ellie is excited to be starting her veterinarian career and has an interest in small animal nutrition and behaviour, and feline medicine. Ellie has two boisterous and bossy Labradors, and loves spending time with her family & friends, at the gym, travelling, and shopping.
Veterinary Nurses & Receptionists
Kylie Woodstock
Veterinary Practice Manager (Cert IV TAE, Cert IV Veterinary Nursing, ICU & ECC Nursing, Dermatology Nursing)
Kylie joined the Racecourse Road Veterinary clinic team in 2020. She has dedicated almost her entire life (32 years) to the veterinary industry. During this time she's had experience in the fields of general practice, specialist dermatology, emergency, critical care and equine nursing, as well as practice management.
Kylie loves working with animals and people alike to achieve the best outcomes for their long term health and well-being with their families. It is always at the forefront of her mind, and is her main priority to care for our clients, patients and staff at Racecourse Road.
Outside of work Kylie has a farm in upper Pakenham where she has chickens, cats, dogs, horses & miniature ponies. She is an avid horse lover, and in her spare time she loves riding her horse Rosie.
Natasha Billing
Senior Vet Nurse (Cert IV Veterinary Nursing)
Natasha joined the Racecourse Road Veterinary Clinic in 2021. She has been working with animals since 2006, having worked in boarding kennels and dog training facilities. She started her nursing journey in 2009 working at a large mixed animal clinic and since then has worked in other small animal clinics including a busy Emergency Centre.
Natasha enjoys building relationships with clients and their animals and really enjoys medicine nursing and a challenging emergency patient.
In her spare time Natasha and her husband are running their 2 kids off to sports and playing basketball. At home they have a 17 year old Japanese Spitz cross & a cheeky Domestic Shorthair cat.
Laura Yue
Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV Veterinary Nursing)
Laura joined Racecourse Road Veterinary Clinic in 2018. From a very young age she was interested in animals and knew she wanted to work in the veterinary industry one day. She has always loved caring for and being surrounded by animals, and began her career as a veterinary nurse in 2015 working in general practice clinics.
Laura enjoys working in all areas of the clinic, but especially likes putting her nursing skills into practice with surgical procedures and medical cases. She also enjoys furthering her knowledge and education inside and outside of work, to ensure that the patients and clients of the clinic are receiving the best quality of care from her and her coworkers.
Outside of work, Laura likes going on walks, exploring new places, playing video games, and spending time with her friends, family and furbabies.
Laura and her partner have four cats; Ruby, Amber, Gizmo & Gnarla, that are their world, and they also enjoy minding their families other cats and dogs on a regular basis.
Kira Duncan
Veterinary Nurse
Kira joined the Racecourse Road Veterinary Clinic team in November 2020. She completed her Bachelor of Animal Science in 2006 at Latrobe University. Since then she has completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and worked in a busy reproductive clinic and a specialist surgery.
With Kira's high level of skills and knowledge, she is an integral member of the Racecourse team and great mentor for our trainees.
Kira has two cats, Peanut and Emilio whom she rescued in 2014.
Outside of work Kira loves running, mostly to keep up with her two young boys.
Sandy Camargo
Veterinary Nurse
Sandy joined the Racecourse Road Vet team in early 2022. She started nursing in 2011, working in small animal practice specialising, including a few years in New Zealand.
She enjoys all areas of nursing, especially a fast pace work load and taking care of hospital patients.
Outside of work she enjoys exploring the outdoors, hiking, snowboarding, travel and music.
Kim Gilbert
Receptionist
Kim joined the Racecourse Road Vet team in 2021 as part of our reception team. Kim has worked in the corporate world as an Executive Assistant and Recruitment Consultant for many years. After a career break to look after her two boys, Charlie and Jasper, Kim wanted a part-time role where she could combine her love of people and animals. Since rejoining the workforce, she is loving being part of a great team again.
Kim spends her spare time with her family on their hobby farm in the hills. She has two very excitable border collies called Lilah and Lucy, two miniature steers called Hugo and Steve, and two horses called Bindi and Heidi.
Frances Bates
Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Frances started working with the Racecourse Road Veterinary Clinic team in October 2021 after changing career paths and following her passion in becoming a veterinary nurse.
Frances enjoys the challenges of working within a busy general practice with high standards. There is always room to grow and no two days are alike, which she enjoys.
In her spare time she loves spending time with her two children, training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, reading and nature.
Leonie Collins
Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV Veterinary Nursing)
Leonie has been a veterinary nurse since 2018 and joined Racecourse Road Veterinary clinic in 2021. Leonie enjoys the variety of reception and nursing, and is happy to be part of such a busy general practice.
She loves the challenges of looking after different animals in the clinic, and has a soft spot for Labradors. Leonie also has a very spoilt ragdoll at home called Belle.
When Leonie isn't working, she spends time with her family, gardening, and is also a big sports fan, especially tennis!
Natalie Carter
Veterinary Nurse
Natalie started veterinary nursing in 2001 and joined the clinic in 2019, bringing with her a calm presence and a wonderful sense of fun!
She enjoys every aspect of nursing and has always worked in general practice. She believes every corner of the clinic is important, from the client service to the care of each and every animal.
At home Natalie has a busy family life with partner Dylan and three girls, Violet, Aubrey and Rosalie. They are also joined by two cats, Sari and Sooty, and many, many turtles.
Roxanna Puteri
Trainee Veterinary Nurse (Studying Cert IV Veterinary Nursing)
Roxanna joined Racecourse Road Veterinary Clinic in January 2021. She absolutely loves working with such a great supportive team, helping her along with her journey towards becoming a qualified veterinary nurse. She feels it is a privilege to be around a team with such high standards for quality of care and the wellbeing.

Roxanna has a lot of fur babies of her own, ranging from Shepherds to Staffordshire's; she loves them all. She would definitely try to rescue all the dogs in the world if she could. Roxanna also loves to gain knowledge on techniques that best suit each animal to better understand how to make them feel more at ease whilst in our care.
Lois Ritchie
Receptionist
After nearly 20 years in the Aged Care sector, Lois has become the newest addition to our wonderful Reception team. She loves working with people and has always wanted to work with animals as well. So when the opportunity arose to combine these 2 aspects as a Vet Receptionist, she took a leap of faith and took the bull by the horns! The rest is history and she is loving her new role in helping our furry clients and their human guardians! Lois has 2 grown up sons and shares her household with many rescue animals: 2 dogs Molly and Harvey; 2 cats Oscar and Hunter; a goldfish Mr Googly, 2 goats Pippy and Josh and hopefully more sheep and steers to come! When Lois is not working she enjoys catching up with family and friends, good vegan food, spending time with her animal companions, energy work, Tai Chi, Tai Chi Sword and reading about the great mysteries of the universe!
Katherine Bartlett
Veterinary Nurse
Kat has been working in the veterinary industry since 2001, and after all this time still loves meeting all the beautiful pets we see. The veterinary clinic is Kat's happy place!
Kat loves all creatures great and small, and currently lives with 3 wonderful dogs; Hudson, Audrey and Chelsea. Kat even used to have a pet pig, affectionately named Kevin Bacon.
Jesse Jones
Veterinary Nurse ( Cert IV Veterinary Nursing)
Jesse joined the team in 2022 and has completed her Cert IV Veterinary Nursing in early 2024. She has a particular interest in surgery and pathology, but loves providing care for patients in recovery.
In her own time she loves snowboarding, surfing, hanging out with friends, and spending time with her crazy fur babies.
Amy Thaller
Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV Veterinary Nursing)
Amy joined the Racecourse Road Vet team early 2024 and has been in the industry since 2010 working in general practice.
She enjoys the different roles of nursing, learning something new every day, and loves getting to know the patients and clients.
Amy has a keen interest in behaviour, especially feline behaviour, and also has a soft spot for the wildlife that are occasionally brought to the clinic.
Outside of work Amy loves spending time with her husband, raising their toddler who keeps them on their toes. They also have two cats Meela and Neville who rule the house. She is a massive Disney fan and loves talking all things pop culture.
Stephanie Brown
Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV Veterinary Nursing)
Steff completed her certificate IV in veterinary nursing in 2020 . Having been in the veterinary industry for 3 years, she then decided to come and join the RRVet team.
She loves talking to clients to help them achieve the best quality of life for their pets.
Outside of work she spends time with her husband and their Border Collie going camping and other adventures. She also does speed roller skating as a way to keep fit.

Dana Kosta
Veterinary Nurse (Cert IV Veterinary Nursing)
Dana joined the Racecourse Road Veterinary Clinic in 2022 and has been working in the veterinary industry since 2019.
Dana enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing, from reception to surgery and everything in between. As well as many other team members, she loves working in the fast paced environment at Racecourse Road.
Dana has a golden retriever called River, as well as two cats called Boots and Casper that keep her busy outside of work.
Tylah Ryder
Trainee Veterinary Nurse (Certificate III in Animal Studies)
Tylah is a vibrant 22-year-old with an unwavering passion for all creatures great and small. With hobbies ranging from gym workouts to horseback riding. As a dedicated horse rider and avid camper, she finds joy in exploring the outdoors with her beloved German Shepherd and quarter horse. With a menagerie of other pets at home including cats, lizards, snakes, tarantulas, and rabbits.
Tylah's bubbly personality and strong compassion for animals makes her a valuable member of the Racecourse Road Vet Clinic team.
Jacinta Reid
Marketing Coordinator (Cert IV Veterinary Nursing)
Jacinta joined the Racecourse Road Veterinary Clinic team in 2018. Jacinta grew up on a rural farm and was always surrounded by animals, so caring for them is second nature and always a delight.
Working mainly in small animal practices throughout her career, both in country Victoria and Melbourne. Enjoying all aspects of nurses and building relationships with not only her patients but with clients.
Jacinta has two children that keep her very busy, along with two dogs, a rabbit, fish and chickens.
